In-app Notifications, Easier Candidate Scoring, and Emoji Shortcuts

This update brings a bunch of improvements focused on visibility, clarity, and expressiveness — so you and your team can move faster and stay in sync more easily.

In-app Notifications

We’ve had email notifications for a while, but now we’re bringing that same visibility right into the product.

You’ll now see a new bell icon in the navigation bar. Click it to check your most recent activity — things like:

  • Someone assigning you to a job listing,
  • A teammate replying to your comment or mentioning you,
  • Listing updates like status changes or new openings,
  • Someone reacting to your feedback.

You can click into any notification to go straight to the relevant spot in the app, and you can always head to the notifications page if you want to dig through a longer history. Everything’s grouped by week and neatly organized so it doesn’t get overwhelming.

This is just the start — we’ll keep improving as we go.

Better Score Visibility on Candidates

When you’re reviewing applicants, it’s key to quickly understand where feedback stands — both yours and the team’s. We’ve made a number of updates to help with that.

  • On the Listing Page, your own score is now always visible, including when you haven’t scored someone yet (helpful nudge 👀),
  • We’ve swapped the old “category + number” view for a visual score bundle, which is easier to read at a glance,
  • For candidates that have been rejected or skipped, you’ll now see their full score history — so it’s easier to trace why a decision was made,
  • These same improvements have been extended to other parts of the app like the single application page and the candidate database.

These changes should help you make more informed decisions without extra clicking around.

:emoji: Picker

We've launched a ton of things, but this might be our favorite! We’ve added full support for :emoji: shortcodes wherever you’re typing — comments, replies, notes, and beyond.

Just start typing : followed by an emoji name (like  or ), and the emoji picker will show up right where you are. We’ve also improved the picker itself — more on that below.

Improvements and Fixes

  • ⚡️ We made significant speed improvements to the job listing pages — now blazing fast whether you’re looking at 10 or 1,000 candidates.
  • ✨ When rejecting a candidate, you can now immediately leave a comment — no need to go back and add it later.
  • 🐞 The emoji picker now autofocuses on the search field when opened, so you can just start typing.

We’re continuously working on new things and improving existing ones. We’d love for you to have a say in what we’re building next.
